Amaia and Erik, on the day of his doctoral defense

Welcome to our travel Blog about Southeast Asia

Thanks for checking by on our travel Blog. We are happy to welcome you here on our little “private” diary (towards-new-horizons.com) and excited that we finally begun to discover new (also personal) horizons. Our route towards new horizons begun in Singapore, after which we headed right towards Indonesia, our longest stay in one country. We spent almost 4 month on the different islands (Sumatra, Siberut, Java, Bali, Lombok, Flores, Sulawesi, Togeans) that indonesia offers, discovering their individual beauty and people. Now Malaysia awaits us and we started our journey there in Kuala Lumpur, famous for the Petronas Twin Towers, until 2004 the highest building of the world. Afterwards we want to travel in Thailand, Laos, Mynmar, Kambodia, Vietnam or even more, we’ll see. Our plan is to keep you (and us) posted and report from our new form of living that we are striving for. We would like for you to take part in our journey and also welcome tips from other travellers.

So long …..
