Accommodation:
Not a real tip but cheap: Golden Kalaw, 14 $ the night with lovely balcony and view over the city, but not very clean bathroom. Still better than the Golden Lily tiny windowless rooms next door for 7 $
Eating:
Amazing Indian Curry dishes in the 3N Restaurant in the main street. The food is cheap and you get plenty, inluding tasty sauces that we did not even encounter in the indian places in KL.
Trekking:
Definitively the tours organized by Sam’s Restaurant. With 5 people or more it costs 36 $ p.P. and you get very friendly guides that speak excellent english. All the meals were amazing and among the best we got in Myanmar so far. On this 3 day /2 night tour you sleep in a room provided by a family of the village you stay for the night.
